PDP Guide Part 8: Kappa Valley

So, starting from the path to Scarlet Devil Mansion, head to the left. If you have not already faced the trainers on the left side of Mist Lake, please refer back to Part 7 and the bolded section for the left side.

Keep heading down the path until you reach a bridge. Directly below the bridge is a path that leads to the left. Go down that path.  You will be stopped by a Kappa who will challenge you with a level 27 Sunny and a level 27 Nitori. Continue past her into the next area.

You will be attacked by a brown-haired fairy who will use a level 27 Nazrin and a level 27 Rumia. Past her is some grass where you can capture Komachi, Iku, Wakasagihime, and Nitori.

To the right is an alternate entrance to the Forest of Magic, but we need to be able to cross water in order to continue there, so for now, our only option is up.

Follow the linear path until you are challenged by a Kappa who sends out a level 29 Nitori.  Continuing further on through some grass, you will be challenged by yet another Kappa, this one with a level 27 Nitori and a level 27 Wakasagihime.

Past her is a purple-haired Fairy with a level 27 Daiyousei and level 27 Lily.

And past her, is a cave. Head on in and go down the first ladder. Within this cave, you can capture Nitori, Kisume, Hina, Seiga,

Inside here is actually rather simple. Simply head up. Up the stairs straight ahead is a Ghost who will challenge you with a level 29 Komachi. This Ghost is very easily avoided, however, as you have no need to go up the stairs at all.
If you head to the right instead, you will face a Kappa with a level 26 Wakasagihime, level 26 Nitori, and a level 26 Rika.

Up and to the left of this Kappa is a Yin Yang Orb that contains Skill Card 74. To the right is a Kappa. Speak to this Kappa to head to Kappa Valley.


Once in Kappa Valley, straight ahead is a building. In here is an Akyuu, a female Kappa who will heal you, and a male Kappa who will sell you Thread. He also sells Talismans (top right), which are like more potent Rosary Beads. I highly recommend picking some up, as they are useful later.

Heading up past this building is a bridge. Go across it and pick up the Yin Yang Orb containing a Telescope. Then head back across the bridge and up the other path. You will see a building blocked by a purple-haired fairy.

Continue past there and fight the brown-haired Fairy guarding some steps. She uses a level 29 Lily. Past her is another blocked building. A purple-haired Fairy up here will fight you with a  level 29 Wriggle. Cross the nearby bridge to see two more blocked-off buildings. The brown-haired Fairy here will fight you with a level 28 Daiyousei and a level 28 Cirno.

Keep on heading down until you fight purple-haired Fairy with a level 27 Wakasagihime, level 27 Hina, and a level 27 Luna.

Continue on and fight the pink-haired Fairy. She will use a level 28 Rumia and a level 29 Sunny. After fighting her is a good time to return to that initial house and heal, as there is a boss fight coming up here.

Continuing  forward, you will encounter the Three Mischievous Fairies appearing to harass Nitori (I don't know, I can't read Japanese, but that's what it looks like). The three of them will then challenge you (they count as one Trainer, but use 6 Puppets).

The Three Mischievous Fairies use a level 28 Sunny, level 35 Star, level 28 Luna, level 35 Luna, level 28 Star, and a level 35 Sunny. Do not underestimate these. This was the first time my Momiji was knocked out!

Nitori will thank you and then head inside the nearby building. Follow her in and she'll reward you for helping her with an Inflatable Boat. This means you can now cross over water! Head on back to that initial building to heal, and then we've got two options on where to go next: Muenzuka to capture Puppets, or Youkai Mountain to continue on in the game.
