PDP Shard of Dreams Postgame: Reincarnation

Gap to Scarlet Devil Mansion and enter. Sakuya will talk to you once you enter, and then leave.

Enter the center door and go up the large stairs to your right or left, and then up the central stairs. Approach the large door in the center to overhear a conversation. Enter the room to talk to Remilia and Flandre. Flandre will leave after. Follow her back out the door and head to the left. Enter the little door. There's a bed in here to heal if you need to, and then head out the next door (left).

Go down through a door, then down and through another door. Then go left and keep going left until you can't anymore, then go up. Go through two screen changes (right after the other).

Continue along and go down, go down the steps, keep going down, down more steps, go down some more, and down one more set of steps. Then go right. When you go down another tiny set of steps, go right. Keep going until you can't go right anymore, then go down. Continue along to a screen change.

Go left when you can, and then up, and then left. There's a large door here, so go through it. Go through this next hallway and through another large door. This brings you to a dining room. In the top right corner is a door. Go through it.

In here, you'll talk to Flandre. She'll then spawn three more Flandres. You have to fight all four Flandres in a row.

The first Flandre uses a level 65 UtsuhoS, level 65 MokouP, and a level 65 ClownpieceS.
The second Flandre uses a level 65 UdongeP, level 65 SakuyaS, and a level 65 GengetsuS.
The third Flandre uses a level 65 YuukaD, level 65 TenshiD, and a level 65 SukunaD.
The final Flandre uses a level 68 FlandreS, level 68 FlandreEX, and a level 68 FlandreP.

These fights are all in a row with no breaks for healing. As a warning, that Clownpiece is pretty powerful. The final Flandre's FlandreS also has an item that makes it so she cannot be 1HKO'd, and FlandreEX has odd typing. Good luck!

Exit her room, exit the dining room, and then exit her hallway. When you're back in the main Basement area, Gap out and back to the entrance of Scarlet Devil Mansion.

Once back in the entrance hall of the mansion, go left and take the steps down into the Library.

Once in the Library, go over to where the Akyuu Box is. You'll notice there is now a Patchouli Puppet on the table and a Yin Yang Orb beside it. The Yin Yang Orb contains some items for Reincarnation, which we'll get to a second.

The mechanics of Reincarnation are best explained by the TPDP Wiki. So I won't write a separate basic Reincarnation Guide.

That said, I do have a particular strategy for reincarnating things.

First, you need to get two Puppets with all S ranked stats. If you didn't import over your original game starter then you already have one with all S ranks guaranteed. The basic idea here is that we want two parent Puppets with the most S ranks that we have. Keep in mind that the parent Puppets will not be changed at all, so don't worry about which ones are the parents.

I'm going to be using Shou, who has S ranks in all stats, and an Elly with an S in HP and Speed.

Talk to the Patchouli Puppet to begin reincarnation. In the first slot, put the Puppet you want to Reincarnate. Make sure this isn't one of your good Puppets! In the second and third slots put the parents. In the fourth slot is what nature you want your Puppet to have. Generally, you'll want Red, Green, or Black Mark. Make sure you pick the right Mark for the right Puppet! A Puppet that's supposed to have high FoAtk isn't going to need a Black Mark!

紅の印 - Red Mark
蒼の印 - Blue Mark
黒の印 - Black Mark
白の印 - White Mark
碧の印 - Green Mark

The final slot is for your Magic Stone, which determines how stats are passed down. Unless you've gone and done the Ice Cave, then you will only have the Rainbow and Omega MagStones.

透の魔石 - Omega MagStone
虹の魔石  - Rainbow MagStone

In general, you'll be wanting to use the Rainbow MagStone, as it is the most universal and the easiest to get all S ranks, in my opinion. I have never once needed to use the colored magic stones from Ice Cave. The Omega MagStone is really only used if you have a perfect all S rank Puppet but did the wrong Mark. So, in general, use the Rainbow MagStone.

Reincarnate the Puppet, and if it has more S ranks than your non-perfect-S-rank parent, then use this new Puppet as the parent and reincarnate something else. The idea is just to use the most S ranks when reincarnating to increase your likelihood of getting full S ranks.

Then keep redoing this until you get a perfect S rank. Once you have two perfect S rank Puppets to use as parents, this whole process becomes a whole lot easier. It's just the first (or first two, if you imported and your starter is not all S ranks) that is annoying and tedious. It shouldn't take too long, although it's dependent on luck. Getting my first full S-rank Puppet took about 23 reincarnations with one parent full S and the other with two S ranks.

Oh, and remember that each reincarnation attempt costs a Magic Fragment.

Now, where do we level all these new reincarnated Puppets?
Simple. On your Gap Map, press A to pull up the screen with four Gap Points. Gap to the one on the top left. This is Yukari's House. If you go down, there's a patch of grass where you can fight wild Chens, Rans, and Yukaris. Just bring one high level Puppet with you to use in battle, and equip those two Combat Handbooks and your Natives Grace to your Puppets and grind here.

There's even an Akyuu Box here to heal with; just put the Puppet you need to heal into the box and then take it out immediately after and it'll be fully healed.

...Just don't enter the house to the left unless you're ready for a fight, because Yukari and Ran are in there. So, don't go waltzing in there with a party of level 1s.

  1. i'll help with grinding places:
Battling the Puppet liberation and Seiga: the human village, puppets with the same level appear and they give more EXP.
Battling Tojiko,Futo and Miko: the Mausoleum is a great place before battling them... besides the puppets there give more EXP.
Before Battling Reimu and Tewi: the mausoleum is your only choice.
Before Battling Reisen and Mokou: Eientei Outside. good area.

  2. Just wanted to say thanks for all the wonderful guides for this game. I followed your first guide with the base game a while back, and have now just completed the expansion with your guidance as well. I rarely ever seen any comments on your entries so I just wanted to tell you you're rad as hell.

  4. I don't have any problem beating up Clownpiece since I put my SNitori as the leader that time. But I was having a struggling battle because of Tenshi, her Iron Stance and First Aid drived me crazy!
