PDP Shard of Dreams Guide Part 6: The Forest of Magic

Part 5 can be found here.

Welcome to Part 6, where we'll be delving into the Forest of Magic!

First of all, the grass here contains Star, Luna, Sunny, and Alice (rare). I recommend getting your catching done here in this first patch of grass because you can easily go out to heal / access Akyuu box at Kourindou. The exception here may be Alice since she's rare and you'll probably run across her while exploring anyway.

Also, your starter will probably be nearing level 30 at this point (if not already there), so remember to Style Change!

When you're ready, head down. A purple-haired fairy will fight you with a level 14 Daiyousei and a level 14 Cirno. Head own past her and take either path (they both lead to the same place). There's a purple-haired fairy in between the two paths that will fight you with a level 15 Sunny. Head down past her, and to the right across the muddy section. There's a Yin Yang Orb here containing Rosary Beads. Now head to the left.

Eventually, you'll get to a point where you can either keep going down, or go left. Go down first and fight the brown-haired fairy with two level 14 Lunas. Keep going until you get a crossroads-like thing. If you go up, you can fight a brown-haired fairy with a Star, Luna, and Sunny (all level 13). Up and to the left past her is a Yin Yang Orb containing a Seal Thread. Then go back down past the fairy. Keep going down and you'll be in the Southern Forest of Magic, with two paths to go down, left or right. Go left (there's nothing to the right). Cross the bridge and fight the fairy with a level 14 Cirno. There's a Yin Yang Orb in the grass past her that contains an Opal Hairpin (boosts the power of Light-type attacks).

Now head back out of the southern part of the forest. Head left. Follow the path all the way until you can turn left again along a path. Go that way and cross the bridge and then go up.

We're right near Alice's house now, so keep going up until you see it. To the left of her house is a mushroom and if you interact with it you'll get a Plain Doll. Enter Alice's House and she'll heal you because she's nice.

Now, exit Alice's house and go down a bit and to the left. There's a little path leading out of this area. When you get to a clearing with grass (just a couple steps in), go down and fight the brown-haired fairy with a level  15 Luna. Past her is a Yin Yang Orb containing a Rice Dumpling. Head back up past the fairy again. There's grass patches up here, and if you don't have an Alice yet, now's another good time to hunt for one since you can return to Alice's House quickly to heal (there's a door in the back of her house leading to a room with a bed).

Now head up past the grass. When you see a blonde fairy, keep going up. Go up the steps you'll find and fight the purple-haired fairy with a level 15 Star. There's more stairs past her. There's a Yin Yang Orb containing an Antidote Charm (heals Poison status effect). Head back down to the blonde fairy and then head right. Go up (since it's the only way you can go) and fight the purple-haired fairy with two level 14 Lilys. Head up past her, and then right. Cross the bridge. You'll come across a spot with a fence and grass. Ignore it because there's nothing down there for now.

Up here is a Yin Yang Orb containing an Emerald Hairpin (boosts the power of Nature-type attacks). Head right until you see a ledge. Don't hop it yet, instead go down and fight a purple-haired fairy with a level 14 Luna and a level 14 Star. Then head back up to the ledge and hop away!

Once on the other side of the ledges, head up, and then right. Congratulations, you are now out of the Forest of Magic! Heal at the ghost girl and head inside Kourindou to talk to Rinnosuke. He'll give you the Bicycle, which you can use by pressing the Shift key. And it's adorable because your Puppet will ride it with you.

Anyway, head on back to the Human Village, and we'll be making our way to Eientei next!

  1. After completing the Forest of Magic, Rinnosuke has some new items for sale called Youma scrolls. Any idea what these are for?

    1. While I'm not 100% sure what else they can also be used for, I do know that they can be used to change Extra Kosuzu's type and ability, as well as give her a 2x increase in a certain stat (For example, the Black Youma Scroll gives her the Dark typing, the ability Unbound and an increase in Spread Attack).
