Divina Online

I think I posted yesterday saying that I'm going to be attempting to play the Japanese version of Divina Online?

It's going decently...I think. I can't read Japanese so I don't really know what's going on.

In high school we were required to take a language through Rosetta Stone, so I took Japanese. The problem was that they wanted us to rush through a year of Rosetta Stone in a semester, and the more years you finished as quickly as you could, the sooner you wouldn't have to be sitting in a classroom filled with 15+ kids all trying to speak different languages into overly-sensitive microphones. It was terrible, in other words. Nobody had time to actually learn the language they were taking. We just kind of guessed and hoped that we got it right. One lesson of speaking could take a long time because the microphone couldn't pick up our voices.
Personally, I had mine permanently set to romaji text because I didn't have time to learn hiragana/katakana/kanji in the amount of time that I had to complete the lessons to not fail the class. It wasn't possible.

And that's why I understand a bit of Japanese if it's spoken or written out in romaji but not if it's written out in hiragana/katakana/kanji! My understanding of the language is probably equivalent to a 2 year old. Perhaps younger!

I've been trying to memorize some hiragana, but that's not really an overnight thing, so it'll take a while still. I can only recognize a couple characters on sight:

あ。 の。 ふ。 よ。 う。
A      No     Fu     Yo   U

女。
And I know this is the kanji for "Girl" or "Female" or something. I know it's my gender!

This is going to be really difficult, isn't it?

As a side-note, are there any other English-speaking players on JP Divina? Or am I all alone? :(
